Less Than 3 Hours...

I swear time really does go so much slower when you are looking forward to something. You try to distract yourself by reading a book, sleeping, watching a movie, eating, browsing the internet, or even, god forbid, doing homework. Yet no matter how many distractions you load yourself down with, those little hands on that evil little clock just move slower and slower, taunting you.

Megan arrives in less than three hours. I can't leave for the airport yet because then I'll just be sitting there watching the clock aimlessly, hoping by some chance her flight got in super early. 1 hour and 10 minutes. I can leave in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Why does it take so long to get to Hong Kong from Tokyo? Sigh... And this is why I'm updating my blog. I don't really have anything particularly special to say or describe; I'm just killing time.

This week hasn't been that exciting. Just normal - going to class, eating, doing some homework, reading... I'm slowly getting more and more claustrophobic from the lack of exercise, fresh air, and space. Thank goodness I am leaving Hong Kong in 24 days. There's a good chance that if I stayed any longer I would of gone crazy. Well, not really. But I'm just really glad I am leaving soon.

It's kind of funny what perspective does to time. Two and a half years ago when I went to South Korea for three weeks, I thought it was such a long time! A month in Guangzhou last summer - that seemed like an era! Now that I've been in a foreign country for just over three months and I have three and a half more weeks left to go, those 24 days seem like such a short time, yet not quite short enough.

I'm so excited for Megan to come. We have lots planned and it's always fun to see your best friend :-) After Megan leaves, I will finally have to face all the long term assignments that will finally be due. That doesn't sound like a fun prospect. But! I can't complain. The workload this semester really has not been that heavy. In fact, I feel like I've barely done any work compared to what I'm used to back at home. Next semester will be rude awakening.
