Free Friday

I almost didn't update my blog tonight, but if it is going to be a habit, I can't slack off! Today wasn't packed full of activity because I didn't have class. I spent the morning lazing around in my room and then go ready to go out. After walking to the metro and realizing that Kelly (a friend from high school who lives part of the time in Hong Kong) and I misunderstood each other when we were talking about where to meet, I finally found out which way to go in order to meet up with her at Sha Tin. Turns out I had to transfer three times while taking the MTR. But I did it all by myself and once I knew which station I had to go to, I didn't have to ask for any help! It took almost 90 minutes to get there so luckily I brought my Ipod with me. Kelly and I met up at a huge, new mall. We decided to get an early dinner and ended up talking so much that we were in the restaurant for over two hours. When we left the restaurant, people were lined up out of every restaurant nearby (including the one we were eating in), so it was a good thing we had an early dinner and missed the dinner rush. Then we went to eat a common Hong Kong dessert. I had watermelon sabo, which is basically watermelon flavor juice with little gelatinous balls in it. It was good, but I couldn't finish all of it because I was so full from dinner. Kelly had to go meet her mom, so I took the MTR back to school. It was pouring out rain when I left the station. I got drenched on my 10 minute walk back to campus - luckily I had remembered an umbrella!

Here are some photos that Sophie uploaded of us on facebook from when we went swimming for the first time at school.
