4 Day Weekend :-)

Because of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Thursday was a public holiday. So with the rest of Hong Kong, Trace and I went shopping. She wanted to get her nails done so we went to Yuen Long. The place where she got her nails done was a tiny stall in a mall - 4 people could barely fit inside! The two women working there put an English movie on the computer for me to watch while I waited. I am pretty sure it was 2012, but I never saw the title of the movie. After that we went for lunch and then did some shopping. I bought 2 pairs of flats for a grand total of... $4 USD! That's a pretty sweet deal.

Friday I lazed around, went swimming, and went to the international grocery store called Taste in Tuen Mun. I actually found some Mexican food there! So I bought refried beans, tortillas, and cheese so I could have cheese and bean burritos - yum :-) I also stocked up on peanut butter, granola bars, and mac and cheese.
Sophie asked me to go with her to the Big Buddha on Saturday. Because I hadn't seen her in a few days, I decided to go again. Of course when I showed up, the French guy, Cedric, was with her and it turns out they has just started dating. Boy did I feel like the third wheel (awkwardddd). Anyway, the weather was much nicer than the last time I had gone and we got to take the cable car back to the place near the metro station at sunset.

In celebration of Mid Autumn Festival

Today I spent the day cleaning, doing homework, exploring www.howstuffworks.com, and reading. I went swimming and then Trace and I went to Tuen Mun for dinner. We ate at Euro Gogo and then met up with Sophie. We went to Taste and they bought mac and cheese (I have converted people to mac and cheese lovers!) while I couldn't resist buying some butterscotch pudding. We stopped at a dessert place and Trace and I shared this weird, but delicious, ice cream-like dish.

Tomorrow I actually have to go to class! It feels like forever since I had to go, but I need to keep reminding myself I am actually going to school over here and not on vacation.
