First Day of Classes!

Actually for me it was the first day of class because I only had one class today. For some classes we have both lectures and tutorials. Today I had a tutorial for one of my classes but it turns out if we haven't had our first lecture yet then we don't go to tutorial. So because I didn't have to go to tutorial, I had time to walk to the MTR station and apply for a student Octopus card (a card that you can use for the MTR, buses, printing in the library, and even purchasing things in places like 7-11). I also mailed in my absentee ballot for the primary elections for the governor of Maryland.

After taking care of those little things, I had Chinese class. I am in the very beginner class and actually it was way too easy. Although I have never formally studied Chinese, I have learned some. So I talked to my professor and she said that perhaps I should take the next level up. Unfortuanately, the next level up is at the same time as my gender and sexuality class, which I really want to take! So tomorrow I am going to go with Sophie and Kathy to the class that is two levels above the beginner class and see how hard it is. If it is too hard for me then I will just take the next level up and drop my gender class because taking the beginner class will be way too boring. Gah! I can't wait until it is figured out!

After classes, I went out to dinner with Sophie, Kathy and two other Korean girls, Yoon and Julie. Then Sophie and I went to explore the movie collection at the libary. They have soooo many movies! I ended up renting 3 movies. We chose one to watch tonight in order to cheer Trace up because she didn't have the best of days. We had a fun time being girls together and watching 27 Dresses.

Tomorrow is another day of classes and I really hope I can figure out this Chinese class situation!
