Establishing Routine

Now that classes are underway I am finally starting to establish a routine. The last two days were pretty similar. Yesterday I had Chinese class and my tutorial for Hong Kong Pop Culture. In Chinese, the professor brought menus from the canteen to class so she could teach us what everything is and how to order (even though we have to do it in Cantonese and the class in Mandarin class). I really like my professor and I am so glad I finally get the opportunity to formally study Chinese. Then I had a huge break in the afternoon because I didn't have my tutorial until 7 pm. I did some homework and took an involuntary nap. I am the only international student in my tutorial. It was a little lonely, but when we had to form groups for the presentations we will do later this semester, some girls asked me to be in their group. We got assigned the topic "postmodernism." I am not sure what we will do our presentation on, but ours is the last presentation and isn't until November. After the tutorial, Sophie and I went swimming for almost two hours. Instead of doing laps the whole time, we spent the second half slowly going back and forth and chatting.
Today I had my last class for the week: my drawing tutorial. I have decided that I am going to love that class. My professor is Austrailian and she is sooo nice. We all set up easels in a circle and then had a to draw a frame around our paper with 18 squares in the frame and leave the middle space blank. Then we went around to each others frame and made some sort of mark/line/texture in one of the squares. Eventually all of the squares will filled up by everyone on everyone's paper. Then in the middle space of our page we had to draw a picture about the bucket of flowers in the middle of the room using 5 of the marks in our frames. We got to choose whether to use charcoal or pencil. I chose charcoal because, even though it is more messy, it is much more fun and loose. Sophie is coming over soon and we're going to watch a movie. I didn't really eat dinner so I am going to go make use of the microwave and have some macaroni.
I have a three day weekend and I have no idea what to do with myself. I guess I'll have to figure something out. I hope everyone back home is well and happy. Te echo de menos!
