I spent most of today exploring the Victoria and Albert Museum, the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design. The museum is absolutely massive with over 4.5 million objects in their permanent collection. I spent most of the afternoon in there and I barely covered half of it. I saw sculptures by Rodin, paintings by John Constable, elaborate snuff boxes, sparkling jewels, Christian icons, an old pianoforte, a dress with enormous panniers that force the wearer to walk sideways through the doors, and many many other things. I ate lunch at their awesome cafe where diners can eat inside or outside in the gardens. I really liked the museum and would definitely place it in my top five favorite museums.

After leaving the museum, I crammed into the tube with the rest of humanity and made my way to Piccadilly Circus. It was super crowded there so I did not really walk around much. I am sure it would have been much more fun to explore if I had some company. I took the tube two more stops to Covent Garden where I walled around the piazza and browsed at the markets. Exhausted with sore feet, I made my way back to Rachel's flat where I took a brief rest before we headed to a nearby vintage shop and the grocery store.

This evening Poppy, one of Rachel's flatmates, made lasagna (meat lasagna and spinach and feta lasagna) and pineapple crumble for dinner. After dinner, all of us played cards together. Jim, Dot's boyfriend (Dot is another one of Rachel's flatmates), taught us how to play a game called Shithead. I am not actually sure that is the games real name, but the point of the name is that who ever loses gets called shithead for the rest of the night. The game really involves a certain amount of luck with the cards you get dealt and some strategy. Towards the end, Sofka and I were the last ones playing so we just had a forfeit.
Interesting Facts:
1) In all the Queen's parks in London, dogs do not need to have a leash on.
2) The Queen owns all the swans in the UK because she loves swans. Thus it is illegal to kill a swan.
** Sorry for the late update! I had some major computer issues last night. Will update again tonight.
