Today Rachel and I went to the Big Feastival (http://www.jamieoliver.com/thebigfeastival/) where we had a great time eating, browsing, and listening to music. Rachel found discount tickets online, which we discovered came with three vouchers when we got there. That means that we each got three vouchers each worth five pounds. At the festival, many restaurants from all over London served one of their dishes at a five pound value. So since we had three vouchers, we could get three dishes (see photos below for more details). The whole time we were looked at all the food being served, I couldn't help but think how much my mom and Will would love it there. They would absolutely love exploring all the food offered. I mean if I had fun, they would both have a blast.
There were tents with organic products that had some delicious free samples including chocolate and wine, toffee sauce to put on crackers, and chips with salsa. We spent a lot of time in a tent with vintage clothing from Lilly Allen's store Lucy in Disguise, delicious brownies made by The Beehive Bakery, a manicurist, a vintage hair and make stylist linked with Lucy in Disguise, and lots more. We saw Gizzi Erskine talk about how to "cook yourself thin" and Marawa do some incredible hula-hooping. We also saw the Two Greedy Italians give a cooking demonstration. It was really crowded and hard to see, but they were quite entertaining. Towards the end of the day, we watched a band from Oxford, Trophy Wife, perform. They were really good. Rachel had met all of them at her flatmate's boyfriends house, so that made it even more fun. Below is a link to their new single called Microlite.
Here are some photos I took from the day:
Summer Vegetable Tacos from Wahaca- delicious but a bit too spicy for me so I only managed to finish one. Rachel ate the other ;-)

Corn-fed chicken satay with roti from Awana - YUM

After leaving the festival, Rachel and I headed to the south bank where we walked along the Thames and I got to see some famous sites. We had some delicious Italian food outside next to the Thames. I really felt like I was in London since I could see Big Ben, Parliament, and the London Eye. I can definitely see why Rachel loves it here. Tomorrow we are going to explore some markets and meet my sister's friend, Allie, for dinner.
(The order of the photos somehow got screwed up sorry!)
